Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy is a non-invasive method of accessing the physical, energetic, and emotional state of the entire body, through subtle manipulation of the cranium, spine and pelvis. This therapeutic approach, derived from osteopathic medicine, beneficially affects the membranes and fluids that surround, protect and nourish the brain and spinal cord.

This exquisitely gentle healing modality uses a small amount of pressure applied to the cranium, affecting the whole central nervous system. The gentleness of this approach creates a unique feeling of trust and safety, often allowing a patient to experience a profound and immediate transformation. Patients receiving Craniosacral Therapy will sometimes experience “unwinding,” a process in which the body engages in natural, spontaneous movements, along with emotional release.

Through finely tuned touch, restrictions in the body are identified and corrected, tension is released, and fluid movement is restored, enhancing the body’s ability to balance and heal.

Patients may experience improvement in function of all the joints, sutures, tissues, and organs related to the central nervous system, bringing a sense of well-being on a cellular level. Craniosacral Therapy is effective for many conditions and is especially beneficial to those resulting from physical or emotional trauma. David has treated many patients with traumatic brain injuries, whiplash, back pain, headaches, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction. He also works with various degrees of emotional trauma stored within the body, which can be caused by birth trauma, childhood abuse, divorce, grief and loss, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), or any stressful life event.

Craniosacral Therapy is available in combination with acupuncture or as a stand-alone treatment.
